Pet Exams and Vaccinations
You’ve heard the term “dog years” to refer to the way our pets age faster than we do. Because of this, it is so important for our furry friends to be brought in to our animal hospital in Granbury for pet exams at least twice per year. Our animal hospital also serves the Hood County and Acton areas. Even twice annual visits are equivalent to a human patient seeing the doctor every few years. When your pet becomes older, reaching middle age or their senior years, these visits with our vets become even more important.
Life Stage Preventive Care for Pets
At Acton Animal Hospital, we believe in a personalized approach to veterinary care, which means that at our practice, nothing is “one size fits all.” We establish baseline protocols for pets in specific age groups such as infancy, adulthood, and senior phases. However, each pet’s specific care will be personalized based on their individual lifestyles, health statuses, needs, and more.
The chart below can help you, as a pet owner, recognize your pet’s age in “people years.” Understanding this will give you better insight into their specific needs recommended for their life stage. We maintain life stage protocols to ensure that each of our patients lives their longest, healthiest life possible. It is important to note that some of the determinations made by this chart may vary slightly depending on your pet’s gender, species, breed, and health status.
